Welcome: Beijing + 15

November 3, 2009 § Leave a comment

We invite  you to join a global movement to empower women and girls.  This Forum will examine the New England states’ progress for women and girls since the 1995 UN World Conference on Women in Beijing.  By attending, you will:

  • Share your ideas and actions and help create a Platform for Action for women in the US for the next 5 years (2010-2015)
  • Discuss your state’s efforts to promote women and girls
  • Rate your state
  • Learn new ideas and meet new people
  • Design actions for change!

Who is attending?

  • Young girls from all backgrounds, girls clubs, public and private high school students, college students, volunteers
  • Women and men from all backgrounds:  women of color, multi-generational activists, immigrants, social service providers, international organizations, representatives of associations
  • White House Guest and Congressional Delegates from each state

Let your voice be heard by filling out a survey TODAY.

Now, more than ever before, women and girls must come together to engage community, challenge the status quo, and drive systemic change.  Violence against women and girls continues throughout the world, women are shouldering more roles to survive this economy, and resources are disappearing overnight as budgets are cut across sectors.

In this conference, you will meet seasoned and new activists, share knowledge across states, and develop a call for action to the nation for change.
